Team Lead Inspection

ARE YOU THE EXPERIENCED TEAM LEADER WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

As Team Lead Inspection your focus is on managing, supervising and motivating a team consisting of 3 Cargo Inspectors and 2 analysts at our location in Amsterdam. You are responsible for scheduling and coordinating the inspection work. With your supervision, you will ensure that inspection and laboratory assignments are completed correctly and on time according to applicable procedures and client agreements. 

The following tasks will be part of your job:

As Team Lead Inspection, you will report to the Operations Manager Inspection. You will be in contact with various people inside and outside our organization. You have regular meetings with the Laboratory Manager, Customer Service department and the Order Processing department to coordinate activities. You also have a lot of contact with customers and the terminals by mail or phone. Other tasks include:
  • managing the staff planning, you keep control over the staffing, leave and worked (overtime) hours of your team
  • overseeing the development and training of inspection employees
  • assessing the performance, knowledge and skills and safety awareness of inspection employees and conducting performance appraisals

  • improving the quality and safety of the team, for example by conducting safety meetings and toolbox meetings

  • monitoring the loading and blending process at the terminal

  • checking for completeness and accuracy of raw data and draft reports from inspectors and entering reports

  • providing updates to customers

Do you have:

We are looking for someone with great leadership skills and attention to personal growth. Someone who will ensure that everyone's talent and skills will come to their full benefit for the organization. This includes the following knowledge and experience:
  • a completed nautical or laboratory MBO or HBO education
  • work experience as Cargo Inspector/Surveyor and therefore extensive experience with inspection of petroleum and (petro) chemical products

  • good knowledge of inspection techniques, equipment and international inspection standards

  • a valid VCA Vol certificate
