Container mechanic

ARE YOU A TECHNICIAN WITH KNOWLEDGE OF (REEFER-) CONTAINERS?

Every container that arrives at the depot is checked for damage and/or correct operation. Damaged containers are repaired by the container fitters. The activities include repairing damage, carrying out preventive maintenance and record keeping. It is a versatile function where you will often be working outside.

The following tasks will be part of your job:

  • welding, cutting and burning work;
  • dent removal on containers;
  • replacing floor plates;
  • finishing repairs;
  • keeping the workplace and environment clean, including the disposal of released waste.

 

If you are motivated and have a talent for repairing containers, there is always the possibility to develop yourself into reefer mechanic. Then, the following tasks will be part of your job:

  • stainless steel welding;
  • aluminium welding;
  • foaming and stamping.

Do you have:

  • experience in the field of welding and grinding work, preferably in the (box) container repair;
  • experience in reefer repairing (this is a pre, but not necessary).


Additionally, it is important that you are considerate and aware of your own safety and that of your colleagues when doing this job. This means you handle tools consciously and are aware of your surroundings when working.

And are you: 

  • able to work efficiently, neatly and accurately;
  • willing to work outside;
  • a team player;
  • flexible in working hours?

 

 

What to expect?

When you start at this company you will get a temporary contract and when you love the job and the company is satisfied, you will get an indefinite contract. 

You will be working from Monday - Friday from 06.45h - 15.30h and the salary, gross a month, will be around €2700,-- - €3000,--, depends of your level of experience.

 

Please be aware that requesting a VOG is part of the application procedure.
