(Re)building professional identity: Strategies for migrants in the Netherlands

It can be very hard for migrants (newcomers, refugees, statusholders, expats) to re-establish their professional identity within the Netherlands. To be able to make this a smoother process, both input from the host country (NL) and the migrant is needed. Therefore, it is essential to have conversations with each other on how to navigate this best.
Do you struggle with finding a job and presenting yourself in the Dutch labour market? Or do you have experienced it yourself already and do you have tips for others? Then this brainstorm session might be just right for you!

Hi there! My name is Sofie and I have recently completed her Master's degree Media, Culture & Society at the Erasmus University. Here I followed a course about professional identity construction among migrants. I would love to share this knowledge with you, but also hear from you how you have experienced this process yourself.
I hope together we can come up with some constructive way in which we can improve the professional integration of migrants. I work at Port of Opportunities, and therefore would love to hear how we can help the migrants we guide towards a a new job wiht their integration!
