Obeid is a Syrian with a Kurdish background who made the decision to relocate to the Netherlands, and was quickly followed by his wife and 4 children.  Once in the Netherlands, he busied himself with the Dutch civic integration which he has now completed with a B1 . This means that Obeid is able to communicate relatively well in Dutch and has learned about Dutch culture a great deal!

Background story
Obeid fled Syria for Irak around 11 years ago because it wasn't safe anymore in his own country. When living there for around 6,5 years he and his family decided that also Irak had no future for them. They moved to the Netherlands by the end of 2018. Since 2021 they have an own home and Obeid and his wife finished 'inburgering' this year, so he is in search of a new challenge!

Experiences

Obeid has worked different jobs andv has therefore gained a versatile range of experiences . For example, Obeid worked  as a machine maintenance mechanic in a yarn factory. During this job, Obeid was responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, performing both small and big repairs as well as keeping track of all work done. These were tasks Obeid really enjoyed and therefore, he would like to keep developing himself in this specific field of work.

What is Obeid searching for?
Obeid is searching for a role in a technical/maintenance team where he can both use his technical skills as his administrative skills. Due his age (early 50's) he is looking for a role that combines multiple things and where he can also use the knowledge from his previous experiences.

What to expect from Obeid?
A future employer will get to know Obeid as a reliable, and a quick-learning, solution-oriented, technical doer. He is a very motivated and eager man who wants to start as soon as possible with working again. Obeid is almost fluent in Dutch (B1 level), so he can express himself very clearly.
